DoItYourself GUIDE : Cool the Graphics card for just Rs.100 /-
Most of us are worried about GPU Temps, Reaching above 80.C. for latest cards, is a critical thing to solve. Then there are 3rd party GPU coolers and Fan cards ... etc. all chewing above a thousand bucks!.
I have found a brilliant way to pull down 15.c of the Card for much less. And that’s very easy too!
What you need-
>2 Pieces of 80mm fans (cost Rs 50/- each)
Or 120 mm fans (preferred, Rs 75/- each).
>Sticking tape
>Superglue or something like Fevikwick.
Optional-
Some strips of radium sticker.
Choosing the fans-
Micro ATX (Small) cabinet users get 80mm fans. Those with full tower (large) cabinet get 120mm fans. Use good quality fans, if you have a transparent side window, get a
lighted fan. Look out for my guide to make your own LED/UV Fans.
Method-
That’s pretty straight forward. Take 2 fans and stick them up with the superglue. The fans should be placed side by side, both pushing air in the same direction. The thing will look like a 80X160 mm Rectangle. (Or 120X240mm).The thing has approx. dimensions of the Graphics card. After the glue has set, run Sticking tape all over the edge of the fans to give it an extra strength. Test the fans, Wooo Hoooow!
Looks (Optional)-
Those with transparent side panel will want to make the fans look better. Cut the strip of radium and run it over the edge of fans (Just like the sticky tape). This will render some glow 'border' to the whole card. Cut leftover pieces of radium and stick them up on each blade. That looks extremely cool!!
Placement-
You need to place the rectangle perpendicular to the cabinet base (the Graphics card is Horizontal), so that it covers the entire length of Graphics card- nearest possible to the Graphics card. Fans should blow air directly over the Graphics card. Stick or
tape it down there.
COOL!!!
Advantages-
>This thing is damn Cheap!
>Branded Fan cards occupy one PCI Slot. This card will not use up any slots as it sits perpendicular to the Cabinet.
>Branded fan card sit on the PCI slot, there may be some other card underneath (Sound card or modem at least) that very much block the air intake for them. There is not much room to breathe between the PCI cards!
>Our card sucks fresh cool air from the mesh on side panel and directly blows on the PCI slot area. As a result it not only Cools the Graphics card, but also dramatically improves the overall air circulation and hence, the cooling. It will also cool other PCi cards you may have.
>Repeat-its Easy and very cheap!!
