Google Calendar

Well, I'm posting after a long time ... so let's make it good

Now, these Google guys - they're pure geniuses - check out their latest innovation - the Google Calendar!
I could assume what you'd be thinkin right now ..."Ya dude - what's so great about that - even Y!'s got a calendar" , or you must be using MS Outlook. But I suggest you give this a try. Built on kickass hardcore technology used in GMail, this calendar is, simply put, WOW.
Those of you who have GMail can find the Calendar link in the toolbar towards the top left (above the GMail logo) ... if yu don’t see any toolbar, wait a while ... they're rollin it out..!

Well, you start off by setting your time region (in accordance with GMT). Then Google renders a calendar for you. Another point - you can create multiple calendars - what for? Fox eg: - you could have one for your Office work - one just for birthdays, etc.

Now you have 4 views of the calendar - Day, Week, Month, Next 4 days & Agenda.

I liked the week view. Now it’s really simple to enter data. Just click on a time slot and a pop-up well... pops-up... and asks you to fill in an event. First time I entered “Meetin at xyz’s place.” You have also the option to edit the event info in detail. And when I went there – I found that Google had automatically assigned the place as “xyz’s place”! and with a map link besides it … SWEEET!

One of the best points is to assign events as recurring. For example Birthdays – you can make them recurring events – fill and forget!

Now reminders – Google gives you detailed options on how you’d like to be reminded – with evrythin from POP-UP to SMS – to Email. You can set a global default time (say 10 mins) before an event when u’ll be reminded; but you can also modify these settings individually for each event.

But wait – the best is yet to come. Google allows you to SHARE calendars with other goons. “But dude, this calendar contains my personal info too …!” No problem – you can specify an event as Private – meaning it won’t show on a shared calendar. “man these guys think of everything, don’t they?”

So, my advice – dump ‘em Y!’s and Outlooks – and get your data ONLINE!
